It's a big day. If you're a registered voter, please get out there and vote. I've touched on this in the past; a lot of people tend to have the mindset that their one vote will not make a difference.

Chew on the following...

-2000: The election was decided in Florida by 537 votes.
-2004: Less than 120,000 votes in Ohio determined the election.
-2004: The gubernatorial election in Washington was decided by 129 votes.

It's been said that less than two-thirds of registered voters don't vote. In 2004, 14 million registered voters didn't vote. Those could have been the difference.

I gotta get to work, so I shall leave you with this...

I was thinking the other day that I haven't written anything lately. I suppose I either haven't had time, or I haven't had anything to say. Well, anything to say that doesn't involve the horridity of McPalin.

But something occurred yesterday that I thought was worthy of a short post.

I still have the Blue Bomber, which is far from fuel efficient. To say the least. So I started taking the bus a few months ago. It's relaxing. I don't have to worry about idiot drivers. It gives me time to read. A lot. And, of course, I've saved possibly hundreds on petrol.

My last bus pass expired a few days ago, and I haven't found the time to pick up a new one. Thus, I've been paying the fare, which isn't too bad. This brings us to yesterday.

I was standing at the bus stop after work. My bus was a minute or two from arriving, so I dug into my pocket to count change for the fare. I heard a voice ask "Do you need a pass?" I turn, and a little Latina lady was standing there, holding up a One Day pass. I begged her pardon, and she asked again if I needed a pass. I made sure she didn't need it. She said no, pressed it into my hand, then walked away.

It reminded me that there are (aside from you, dear readers) still good people out there.

Thank you, little old Latina lady.
